Yoga aims to unite mind, body and heart. At the Social and Cognitive Learning Center, we support this union and view the practice of yoga as an integrated process that continually adapts to each child’s abilities and needs. As such, our yoga programs are customized and personalized for all children, including children with special needs, including:
- Higher Functioning Autism
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Sensory Processing Dysfunction (SPD)
- Specific Learning Disability
- Emotional and Behavioral Disorder (EBD)

What our Yoga Sessions Include
Private and semi-private yoga sessions incorporate breathing practices, mindful movement, and most importantly, creative thinking and play.
An avid yoga instructor, educator, and storyteller, Roxanne’s yoga sessions include stories, playful, and careful attention to detail to support your child’s experience on the mat. Her yoga sessions invite your child on an imaginary educational adventure filled with storytelling, movement, song, and all through a playful flow. Roxanne makes sure that yoga sessions are mindfully crafted with an educational touch and themes that tap into your child’s imagination. Yoga sessions may include a gentle warm up, sun salutations, a warrior series, a balancing series, a cool down, and a peaceful relaxation. Roxanne’s yoga sessions provide the opportunity for your child to develop mobility, balance, and fine motor skills, and all through an imaginative adventure of self-expression, play, and creative thinking.
