An individualized approach is used to provide assessments and services to address social and emotional needs for children, adults, and families. We focus our efforts to making the interventions and learning process hands-on and practical, directly impacting the lives of those involved. Collaboration and communication with family members, school personnel, and other professionals is an integral part of our approach, allowing us to understand one's functioning in his/her environment.
What Services Do We Provide? At SCLC, we provide a number of services for children and adults. They include: - Comprehensive Social Skills Coaching Program - Individual - Comprehensive Social Skills Coaching Program - Group - Support for young adults transitioning from high school to college or other school/programs - Educational Seminars - Parent Coaching/Support - Social Skills Coaching at pre-schools - Collaboration with Schools, mental health professionals, family members
Who can benefit from SCLC services: Anyone who experiences challenges related to the following: - Reading and responding to social cues - Joining in on group activities - Following along in group settings such as school and organized activities - Being flexible during planned or unplanned life events - Recognizing and verbalizing own emotions and those of others - Assert one's self in social setting - Making and maintaining friendships/relationships - Maintaining employment due to interpersonal conflicts - Handling transitions in activities - Understanding social nuances including sarcasm and boundaries - Effective communication skills - Overall developmental delays due to emotional and/or physical trauma.
